Sharing!

Every country has a different way of celebrating Christmas. Different traditions, foods, color and customs. No matter who we are or where we are from, Christmas represents joy, hope, love, peace, remembering, giving a gift or a service. Spreading good cheer, family bonding and sharing. Sharing is agreeably giving one’s possessions to others. To a child this is not easy; it’s surrender of property, a precious item. We have all heard: ‘’Gimme! No! Mine! Often accompanied by a pull, grab or hugging motion. It won’t happen quickly but some steps to help children learn to share and develop compassion and generosity are to share with your child (interact), model sharing (behavior toward others) reconize and praise sharing and to encourage perspective taking(seeing through another eyes) and repeat, repeat and repeat. Happy sharing! Thanks to Nancy for sharing this with us 😉
